IHCC Book Club meeting


The IHCC Book Club will meet February 20, 2008 12:00 p.m. in the library loft. Bring your lunch and discuss the book "Shadow of the wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Copies are available in the library on the Ottumwa campus.

Donald Harstad to visit the Ottumwa campus library


The library on the Ottumwa campus will be hosting a booktalk with Iowa Author Donald Harstad on Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Harstad is a former deputy sheriff in Clayton County, Iowa. His novels feature Carl Houseman, a sensible deputy sheriff in fictional Nation County, Iowa. This internationally published series features many local haunts that you will recognize, and is reknowned for good, solid descriptions of police work.


Iowa Center for the Book announces All Iowa Reads book for 2008


All Iowa Reads is a program of the Iowa Center for the Book, State Library of Iowa. The purpose of All Iowa Reads is to encourage Iowans statewide to read and talk about a single title in the same year. Library Display Cases

Check out the large display case in the Arts and Science building close to the formal lounge. This display case features IHCC books and photographs that celebrate the African American Culture.



The small display case located in the library features..."A New Year...A New YOU!!!" It showcases DVD's Video's and books to help you with a nutritious diet and exercise program. One of the DVD's is a cardio exercise tape with the "Dancing with the Stars" dancers- Maksim. Ashli, and Kym. Marie Osmond claimed to have lost 4" from her waist while dancing with this show and it might just work for you!

Multi-Cultural Story Time

The next Multi-Cultural story time will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19 in the formal lounge on the Ottumwa campus. During February, the story time will focus on African Americans.

The story time is co-sponsored by the IHCC Library and the Regional Language Center, and is for children up to age 10.
