IHCC Library Book Sale

Indian Hills is having their annual foundation auction this Saturday April 25, 2009 at their North Campus located at the Ottumwa Industrial Airport. The library will be setting up their usual book booth and will sell books during the auction. The doors open at 9:00 a.m. with the auction starting at 10:00a.m. On Thursday several members of the basketball team stopped by and helped Cheryl load the books heading for the auction in the back of a trailer being driven by Dave Talbert, Instructor for the Criminal Justice program.

IHCC Book Club-April 2009

The book club will be reading the book A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. The meeting will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29th in the Library Loft located above the library on the Ottumwa Campus. Please bring your lunch and join in the lively disscussion about the book.

Wednesday 4/15: 7:00 p.m. Staff and Faculty poetry reading in The Loft in the Ottumwa Library. Refreshments served.

Thursday: Door prize drawings for staff, students and community patrons. You don’t need to be present to win. Sign up in Centerville and Ottumwa campus libraries.

All week: Poetry contest. Submit a short poem, Haiku or limerick about why you love your library through Thursday April 16, in person or via e-mail at

In observance of National Library Week April 12-18, (and National Poetry Month in April), the IHCC Libraries are sponsoring a poetry-writing contest.

Submit a short, original poem, Haiku, or limerick on why you love your IHCC library through Thursday, April 16. Submissions may be made in person at the Centerville or Ottumwa campus libraries, or via e-mail at
